Possible iPhone 5 design

A few things to consider first:

1. If the iPhone 5 would of been launched during its normal Summer time frame, it would of been a GSM model only.
2. Is the reason why it hasn't been released yet due to a manufacturing delay / issue or did they want to spread out the time from when the Verizon iPhone 4 was launched?

The iPhone 5 design:

--Will be a dual band phone. (GSM/CDMA)
--Will not be a LTE phone.
--Dual core A6 processor.
--Outer structure material will be made of Liquid Metal and be wider.
--Thinner glass that will be on both sides but will fit inside of the outer structure.
--Will be 20-30% thinner.
--Have the same antenna design as the Verizon iPhone with the addition of the micro-SIM slot.
--Will have a bigger screen. I say 4" but will still look like the iPhone 4 and not have the LCD screen go right to the edges.
--The same design / form as the iPhone 4
--Better camera front and back and brighter flash.
--Touch "Home" button
--Better battery.
--September 2011 release.

Possibly:

--No dock connector (Wireless only)
--Wider mic and speaker
--Magnetic / wireless charging.
--New technology battery

There are a lot of obvious changes mentioned above and it is a more radical design, but Apple redesigned the iPad after the first year so you never know.

Why the short Verizon iPhone lines.....Easy!

Many are shocked at the small lines that greeted the Verizon iPhone on launch day.  But if you stop and think about it, there should really be no surprise.....viz.

1. There was just a month warning that the iPhone would be available on Verizon. How many people REALLY are due for a contract renewal right now?

2. Verizon didn't offer any "early renewal" options for customers like AT&T did for the iPhone 4 (of course we now all know why)

3. Continuing from above, those said customers and in the very beginnings of their two year contract with AT&T and can't switch without serious penalties.

4. The fact that there "may be" a Verizon iPhone 5 in June......many people are gonna wait. (if it doesn't happen, there will obviously be another iPhone 4 sales surge for Verizon then)

5. The iPhone 4 is considered a old phone in todays market, why not wait a few more months? (see above)

6. The Verizon iPhone was offered in four stores on launch day. Those being Apple, Verizon, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart.  So no big lines necessary.

7. The AT&T iPhone 4 was only available at the Apple stores at launch, then AT&T stores a week after. (Hence the long lines)

8. The majority of AT&T iPhone customers renew their contracts in June right when the latest and greatest iPhone comes out. Verizon customers don't have that opportunity, but will now if Apple renews the Verizon iPhone at the same time as AT&T's (with I believe they will)

I personally feel that Verizon customers switching to the iPhone will be a constant stream of contract renewers throughout the year. I predict that two years from now when the iPhone 7 comes out in June 2013, the lines will be super long and huge because of the usual AT&T contract renewals and the now available Verizon iPhone 4 contract renewers.

The iPhone 5 will be GSM only.

Based off the pictures above it's obvious that the iPhone 5 will be a GSM model. The pictures were released a week or so prior to the Verizon iPhone launch. You'll notice the new antenna design sported on the Verizon version EXCEPT, the one pictured above has a SIM card slot....NOT on the Verizon version.

So it's obvious that the iPhone 5 will sport this new antenna design which what we all know, will stir up the bogus "antennagate" non issue again. Everybody will believe that the new antenna design will be admitting that Apple made a mistake with the GSM iPhone 4.

Some other possibilities:
1. There is the possibility that the iPhone 5 will a dual band phone, hence the need for a SIM card
2. This could be a future iPhone frame design.

As for the possibility that the iPhone 5 will be a dual band phone, I say no way. To have a new Verizon capable iPhone, four months after the iPhone 4 release. That is because the Verizon iPhone 4 would have had a short, unheard of, four month selling period

That will never happen. That's not Apple!

Why now is the perfect time for the Verizon iPhone

With the release date of the Verizon iPhone approaching fast, its gonna be a perfect time to get it.

Here's why. Come along with me.....

1. There won't be a Verizon iPhone 5.
2. The Verizon iPhone will join Apples normal refresh cycle come summer of 2012.
3. Verizon customers that purchase the iPhone now, (or in June when they will find out that there won't be a Verizon iPhone 5) will come due for a new phone early to mid 2013.
4. By then, iPhone 7 will be out. Possibly due for a redesign, a improved LTE performance from the iPhone 6 (which I say will be a LTE phone), better battery technology, and more.
5. LTE is supposed to be nation wide on Verizon by the end of 2013.

How's my aim?

Comparing iPhone 4 release days for Verizon and AT&T.

There is no doubt that Verizon is gonna do great come release day, but there are some things that could really hinder those numbers versus what AT&T did in regards to their iPhone 4 release day.

AT&T:
1. Their customers know the iPhone refresh cycle, so can plan accordingly.
2. They offered existing customers a six month grace period to upgrade early.
3. Servers struggled pre-order day.

Verizon:
1. No Verizon customers knew when, or if, there would ever be a Verizon iPhone.
2. Now that a release day has been announced, how many customers REALLY are available to upgrade normally?
3. Still unknown if Verizon is gonna offer early upgrade offers.
4. How will there servers handle pre-order day?
5. Customers waiting for a potential iPhone 5 in June?

I, myself, have been following the mystical Verizon iPhone hype for nearly four years and have been ready for it. My Verizon contract and new phone eligibility came due December 2010. I will be ordering mine come pre sale day.

I strongly believe that there WILL NOT be a Verizon iPhone 5. That wouldn't make sense for Apple to do that. Over two years of research and development into the Verizon iPhone for only a 4 month selling time. That will never happen.

I do believe that February will not be the refresh time for Verizon's version either. The refresh time for both mobiles will align come June 2012, where they will more than likely, offer a dual-band mobile by then.
